TOPOGRAPHY-ORBSCAN & PENTACAM
A topography unit is a machine that takes a specialized photo of the cornea (the front transparent window of the eye). The resulting photo is a topographic map of the corneal surface, similar to satellite aerial color-coded maps of mountains and valleys on Planet Earth.
It is a multidimensional diagnostic system that measures elevation and curvature on both the anterior and posterior surfaces of the cornea. It captures full cornea pachymetry thickness and generates reproducible diagnostic maps essential for personal vision correction.
The map shows the bumps and valleys on the corneal surface and is used to ensure the cornea is regular and can be treated with the laser.
The Aberrometer is a high-precision ophthalmic diagnostic device designed for researchers in eye health and vision science.
The Aberrometer measures the refractive power of the eye at more than 50 sites (points). The measurements taken in this way are designed to produce highly customized individual results, comparable to a custom suit made by a tailor.
The device’s refraction measurement includes both lower and higher order aberrations. In essence, the Aberrometer measures every variation of the entire optical system of the eye from the cornea, to the retina.
